Comment: Those black dots on there are dome shaped plugs that were used to fill in the bullet holes made during WWII when soldiers used this building as shelter. There are heaps more on the other side as well.

Elizabeth Bridge * The suspension bridge you see in the picture was built in 1903 and was the longest in the world up until 1926. The damn Germans blew up the original in 1945 along with all the others. It was rebuilt in 1964. * 2048 x 1536 * (1.4MB)

Liberty Bridge * This was constructed in 1899, and following the destruction of all the Budapest bridges in 1945 this was the first one to be rebuilt (1946) since it had suffered the least damage. * 2048 x 1536 * (1.49MB)

Market * Central Market. This is the largest market in the capital. It was built in 1890. All the way up one side is all meat and all the way up the other is all fruit. Upstairs is all clothing and orniments. It also stretches out either side of the photo. * 2048 x 1536 * (1.54MB)
