Heidelberg Castle * Originally a fort, it was transformed into a castle in 1544. Over the centuries, it has been damaged by war and fire. It still stands over the Neckar River today. Church Of The Holy Spirit * The Heiliggeistkirche (Holy Ghost Church) was built from 1344 to 1441, its tower completed in 1544. It was the burial place of 55 Prince Electors and hosted the famous Bibliotheca Palatina until 1623. * 2048 x 1536 * (1.28MB)

Student Prison * This was used as a Student Prison for a long time. It was run by the university and it was similar to the detention we have today.
