This is similar to the noose they used on Guy Fawkes. When they caught him he was kept in the tower for nearly a year and tortured nearly every day until he signed a confession. On his execution day they hung him until he was almost dead. Then cut him free, while he was gasping for air the executioner cut him with a knife from nipples to navel and started pulling out his insides. Guy was still alive at this point. He was even alive for a few seconds after the executioner pulled his still beating hart from his chest and showed it to him. Guess they get pissed when you try and blow up parliament.
